             A message     is a medium of providing information written in a precise and lucid manner to
             somebody whom one cannot meet personally.

             To write a message effectively:
             G  Be clear, brief and direct.

             G  It can be written both in a formal and informal manner.
             G  Use appropriate language and style.

             General instructions for message writing:
             G  The key points are to be very brief and precise.

             G  The messages should be complete.
             G  A message does not need to have an address.

             G  It must include —
                      ·  the name of the person for whom it is meant,

                      ·  the signature and (name) of the person writing it
                      ·  the date and the time when it is written.

             1.  Read the following telephonic conversation between Alisha and Gunjan. Then, write
                  the message in not more than 50 words as Gunjan has to leave for her dance classes.

                  Alisha  :      Can I speak to mom?
                  Gunjan  :      She has gone out.

                  Alisha  :      I  have  to  leave  for  Tinsukia  tomorrow  at  4:00  am.  for  Inter-School
                                 Dance Competition. Please ask her to get my bag packed as I will be
                                 back home late in the evening after practice.

                  Gunjan  :      I will.

                    3:30 p.m.

                    Wednesday, 5th May, 20___

                    Mom,

                    Alisha called up to inform that she has to leave for Tinsukia tomorrow at 4:00 am
                    for Inter-School Dance Competition. You are requested to pack her bag as she
                    will return home late in the evening after her practice.
