In olden days, there were no schools. There were gurukuls. Pupils lived there
with their guru. Arun was one such pupil of a guru. He lived with his guru

along with the other pupils. He was very obedient and intelligent. He learnt
things very fast. He always did whatever his guru asked him to do. His guru

loved him very much. One day, it rained heavily. The rain flooded the fields.
The rain-water breached a boundary wall of the guru’s field and made an
opening in it. It was a big breach. The flood water had damaged the crops in
the field. The guru sent Arun to repair it. Arun went to the field with a spade.

He tried hard to plug the breach, but the current was very strong and the
breach was widening. He felt helpless.
