in-law. Here it is.
Amma : Thanks.

Takes the letter and reads it, while Rajkumar looks around him and smiles at the girls who

look even more bashful .

Amma : He says he knows you well. Girls, go away inside. I want to talk to Mr
Rajkumar.

Moti and Lambi pout and look disconnected. They obey their mother reluctantly and go out,
throwing many backward glances at the visitor.

Amma : Let me come to the point. My brother-in-law says that you are looking for
a bride. He has a high opinion of you and wants me to help you in this.

Rajkumar : Thanks, Mrs ...... May I call you Amma?

Amma : Of course you may, Rajkumar. I may call you Rajkumar. I hope?
Rajkumar : Of course you may, Amma. And yes, I am looking for a bride. My mother
is getting old and she wants me to get married.

Amma : What kind of girl are you looking for?

Rajkumar : I’m looking for somebody kind and gentle and sweet temperred. She
must be able to look after the house and mother must like her. And she
