A little later, kitchen in the same house Chaambali stirring something on stove.
Chaambali : I’m so tired. I wish I could go to sleep.
(Pari appearing suddenly behind her. Chaambali can’t see her) Sleep, my little flower, my
sweet princess. Don’t worry about anything. Just sleep.
Chaambali sits down, puts her head on her knees and goes to sleep. Pari bustles about,
stirring cutting, chopping and soon a wonderful aroma wafts around the kitchen and
escapes through the back door into the spotlessly clean backyard.
Pari : Something tells me that you’re getting a visitor, my sleeping beauty.
A young man, handsome, of course and dressed in clothes of the best quality, puts his head
around the back door and sniffs as if he can smell something delicious. His name is
Rajkumar. Chaambali wakes up. Pari disappears.
Chaambali : (catching sight of the young man) Who are you? What are you doing in
Amma’s backyard? She’ll have you beaten up if she sees you.
Rajkumar : My name is Rajkumar and I’m just a wanderer, young lady, I don’t mean
any harm.
Chaambali : Well, then, what do you want?
