Comparative adjectives are used to compare differences between the two
objects they modify. They are used in sentences where two nouns are
compared.
Complete each sentence using the correct form of the adjective given
in brackets.
1. My friend has one of the _____________ cars on the road. (fast)
2. This is the _____________ story I have ever read. (interesting)
3. What you are doing now is _____________ than what you did yesterday.
(easy)
4. He arrived _____________ as usual even the chief guest came

We can form Comparatives by adding -er or more to the adjectives or adverbs. There
are a few words that follow no rules and have irregular forms. We have to keep in mind
their forms.
Read the following examples:
1. much / many - more 2. far - farther
3. long - longer 4. sweet - sweeter
5. beautiful - more beautiful 6. helpful - more helpful
7. good - better 8. bad - worse
We use comparatives to compare two things. We may mention both the things or we
may mention only one thing and the other may be understood. We use than after
comparatives.
