Mother Teresa was a noble soul of the twentieth century. She came to India at a very
young age. Quite early in life she took a vow to serve humanity. Even at an advanced age
of 80, she devoted her heart and soul in her selfless service.
She chose the city of Kolkata as her field of activity. Her noble work included helping
poor and unwanted children. She took special care of the handicapped people as well.
She was born in 1910 in Europe. She was extremely sympathetic, kind and innocent.
When she was a child, she became a nun. She started working in the slums of Kolkata. To
aid her work, she had a band of missionary nuns with her.
Her work was a work of charity and nobility. It has earned world-wide recognition. In this
great world of sufferings, the work done by Mother Teresa is a soothing and an
encouraging experience. She was constant flame of goodness, evershining and never
extinguishing. She was a great ray of hope for the poor and the down-trodden. The
Kolkata people worship the great lady. She was an angel of compassion and peace. She
was a guiding star. She was a pioneer of social service. She was a true friend of humanity.
