B. Read the passage on Ants and answer the questions that follow.
Ants are small insects. They have six feet, two stings and a head. Their body is
divided into three parts – head, thorax and abdomen. Each part is connected with
the other by a slender line. They have strong jaws. Ants are found in almost all parts
of the world. They live in houses, farmyards and cornfields. They build mounds of
mud called Anthill for their protection. Ants vary in colour. Some are black, some are
white and some are red in colour. When they bite, a kind of burning sensation is
produced. They have a well-developed sense of smell. They can smell a dead insect
from a distance and send word to the other members of their family. They are
especially fond of sugar and honey. They like anything that has a sweet taste. Ants
live a in colony. When an ant finds food, it does not have it alone. It brings other ants
with it. Ants carry food in their mouth to their hole. It is said that an ant can carry a
load several times heavier than its own body weight. Ants are very diligent. They are
always moving in search of food. In winter, they stay in their nest. So, they store up
food for winter. They work hard all through summer. Ants are skillful builders. They
build their nests. They teach us the lesson of unity, sharing and sacrifice.
