Rain Water Harvesting
One way to save water is rain water harvesting. In this process, the
rainwater is collected in big containers,
drums or in an underground reservoir.
Then, this rainwater is filtered and used Tamil Nadu is the first Indian

Measuring Liquids

Conservation of water is essential to avoid shortage of water. One of
the most important ways of conserving water is rain water harvesting. It
means collecting rain water and conserving it for future use.
Recycling of Water
Recycling of water is another way by which water can be conserved.
Used water from factories and homes is sent for cleaning. This water is
again taken out and used.
Uses of Water
g It helps to digest our food.
g Food is carried to different parts of body with its help.
g Water is the home to many animals and plants.
g Plants need water to grow and make their food.
g Water dissolves nutrients of the soil and food carries it to different
parts of plants.
Take two plants in two separate pots. Place both pots
outside. Water one pot daily while leave the other one dry.
After four days, the plant which was not being watered
will die, but the one which was being watered will grow
well. This shows that plants need water to grow.
