Pucca House
A pucca house is made of cement, bricks, iron, steel, and many other
things. It cannot be affected by strong winds, rains, etc. Flats and
apartments come under pucca house.

Special Houses
The kind of houses we build depends upon the
region and its climate.
Stilt Houses
These houses are built on poles or stilts in
places like Assam where it rains a lot. The stilts
keep the house high above the ground to
protect the house and the people from floods
and wild animals. The roofs are slanting, so
rain water slides down easily.
Tents
Tents are made of canvas cloth or leather.
They are portable shelters and can be fixed
and folded easily. They are used by people in
mountains, deserts and while camping.
Houseboats
Houseboat is a floating house. It moves on
water. Such houses can be seen in Kashmir and
Kerala. They are built on boats.
