Water is the basic need of every
human beings. It is used in
different ways. Different sources

are there to provide water.
Let us study about them.

Need of Water

We need water to stay alive. We cannot live for more than a few days
without water. Plants and animals also need water to survive. Drinking a
lot of water keeps us healthy. Most of the earth is covered with water.

That is why the earth is called Blue Planet.

Besides, drinking water is required for various purposes :

g Cooking

g Bathing Cactus (a plant) can live without

g Washing clothes and utensils water for many weeks.
Camels can live without water
g For plants and animals.
for many days.
Sources of Water

We get water from rain which fills lakes, rivers and ponds. Rain water
goes under the soil and gets collected deep down in the earth and we
get it when we dig wells and tube wells.
