A PowerPoint slideshow (PPT) is a presentation created on software from

Microsoft that allows users to add audio, visual features to a presentation. It is
considered to be an alternative and digital technology that replaces the use of
older visual-aid technology and also acts as a tool for collaboration and content

sharing. PowerPoint is included in Microsoft Office, making it one of the most

well-known and widely used brands of presentation software.
A PowerPoint slideshow is also known as a PowerPoint presentation. In the

previous class, we have learnt to work on the PowerPoint presentation. Let’s
explore more to work on it.

What is a Theme?

Each time you open PowerPoint, you are faced with the same plain white, boring page

to start your presentation. This is the default design template.

PowerPoint themes give you a quick and easy way to change the design of your
presentation. They control your primary colour palette, basic fonts, slide layout and
other important elements. All the elements a theme will work well together, which

means you won’t have to spend as much time to format your presentation.

Every PowerPoint Theme — including the default Office Theme — has its own theme
