topic within seconds. There is a computer and Internet facility in my computer lab in the
school where we can have access to the needed information for our projects. My
computer teacher assists me about how to get online information and use it in the
appropriate manner.
It has made online communication fast and easy. People can communicate with each
other anywhere in the world via video-conferences or just messaging. Students can take
help of Internet to get prepared for their exam, to prepare their project, to participate in
the extra curricular activities and many more. Students can contact their teachers online
to discuss some unsolved questions or friends for many purposes. Using Internet we can
get information about anything in this world, like real address and exact distance of the
destination we want to go, etc. Internet is a real boon for everyone. Now, we cannot
imagine life without Internet.
3. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam
The full name of ‘Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’ was ‘Dr Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam’.
He is popularly known as the missile man of India and the People’s President.
Dr APJ Addul Kalam was born on 15 October, 1931 in Rameshwaram, a small town in
Tamil Nadu. It was a quiet town then with a small population consisting of mostly Hindus
and a few Muslims and Christians. People lived in healthy contentment and harmony in
this place.
Abdul Kalam’s father, Jainulabdeen was the Imam of Rameshwaram Mosque. His two
friends were Pakshi Lakshmana Sastry, the priest of Rameshwaram Temple and Father
Bodal, the priest of the Lime Church of Rameshwaram. These three friends were the
most respected and revered personalities of the town.
Every Friday evening, these three friends met each other. The Imam dressed in this turban
and cloak, the Priest in his dhoti and the Father in his alb would sit together and discuss
about the activities of the town. They solved the problem of the people of the town. Dr
Kalam did his schooling from Rameshwaram Panchayat Primary School. His best friend
was Ramanadhan Sastry, the son of the priest. They spent most of their time together. In
the school they sat next to each other.
Dr Kalam was a great scientist who also served the country as the 11th President of India
from 2002 to 2007. After completing his term of presidency, he returned to the civilian
life of writing, education and public service. He worked at various chief positions at ISRO
and DRDO. Then he became the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India
with the rank of a Cabinet Minister.
