the blessings of the poor. It will give us moral strength and satisfaction. So we must spend

a part of our pocket money on such charitable purposes. If we spend all on eating and
drinking, this will definitely turn us to be selfish and narrow minded. We can buy even
good books with this money. So, we must use it wisely.

7. Educating a Girl Means Educating Two Families

The girl of today will be the mother of tomorrow. Mother is the first teacher of a child.
She not only feeds her children but also gives them sound nursing and upbringing. An

educated girl understands her responsibilities and duties towards society and parents.
When she becomes mature in age and education, she can become an employer and will
be fruitful for the family and the nation. In ancient times, Gargi, Maitreyi, Apala, etc.
played an important role in spreading the girl education. On the other hand, Indira
Gandhi, Kalpana Chawla, Benazir Bhutto, Kiran Bedi, Pratibha Patil, etc. have earned
names in the society and various fields like politics, science, space, civil services, etc.

8. Celebrating A Festival

The celebration of a festival is a matter of great joy. A lot of preparation is done. New
clothes are bought. Sweets are purchased. The house is painted and decorated. Friends
and relatives gather. They dance and sing songs. They exchange gifts and packets of
sweets and fruits. Everybody smiles. A lot of money is spent. If it is the festival of Diwali,
plenty of fire works are let off. At night, the people worship Goddess Lakshmi. We visit

our nears and dears. If it is Holi, dry colours are smeared. Enmity is forgotten and
forgiven. Friendship and love are renewed. Drums are beaten to express pure happiness.
Whether it is Eid or Christmas or any other festival, it is an occasion of great joy. We must
enjoy it to our heart’s content.
