Word Problems

Example : There are 5650 wheat bags in a godown. 2320 bags are taken

out for distribution. How many are left ?

Solution : Total number of wheat bags in a godown = 5650

Number of wheat bags taken out

= 5650 – 2320 = 3330

\ 3330 bags left in the godown.

Example : There are 3500 people in a village. If 2185 are men, how many

women are there in the village ?

Solution : Total number of people = 3500
