G An adverb which shows the frequency is called the adverb of frequency .
Read the following examples:
1. He usually sleeps in the day.
2. They always helped me.
Formation of Adverbs
Adverbs are normally formed by adding -ly to adjectives.
Read the following examples:
warm - warmly quick - quickly
serious - seriously easy - easily
But, there are few words which have the same form both as an adjective and as an
adverb.
Read the following examples:
long late early hard
daily short fast straight
Read the following examples:
1. This is a hard stone. (adjective) 2. He worked hard . (adverb)
3. This is my daily routine. (adjective) 4. He goes for a walk daily . (adverb)
Sometimes two similar-looking adverbs have very different meanings.

1. He arrived late for the breakfast.
2. Lately she has visited Gateway of India.
Now, we will learn the uses of certain adverbs –
1. Quite - Rather
G Quite is used as a favourable comment, while rather is used when you want to
make an unfavourable comment.
