He summoned up his courage to move down the path towards the monster. The closer

the tortoise got, the more the monster changed its shape. Then when he was almost
upon it, the tortoise realised that what he had thought was a monster, was only a great
pile of rocks, which formed a shape just like a monster.
The tortoise carried on and finally entered a beautiful valley filled with woods and plenty

of food. The tortoise lived very happily here and became known everywhere as the
‘Brave Little Tortoise’ who killed the monster.

             The Story
Once, there was a rich man. He had many servants. His golden ring was stolen. He tried

his best to find it out. At last he reported the matter to the sarpanch.
The sarpanch was a wise man. He doubted the rich man’s servant. He thought of a plan.

He brought a cord. He declared that it was a magic cord. He cut it into pieces. He gave
the pieces to the servants. The pieces were equal in length. The sarpanch said, “This is a

magic cord.” He further said, “The thief’s cord will grow by two inches. All servants slept.
The real thief was upset. He thought that his cord will grow by two inches so he would
be caught. He cut his cord by two inches. In the morning he was caught and handed

             over to the police.
Moral : A guilty conscious needs no proof.
