Food for Animals

Some animals are plant eaters. They
eat plants. Cows, goats, deer and

camels eat grass, leaves and green
plants.

Some animals are flesh eaters.
Lions, tigers and leopards eat the

flesh of other animals. Some eat both plants and flesh of other
(Like– Bears, Crows) animals.

Some animals eat the flesh of dead animals. Vultures, wild dogs,
jackals and hyenas are such animals. This way they help in keeping

the jungle clean.

Animals Give Us Food

g Animals like cows, buffaloes

and goats give us milk. Animals
which give us milk are called

milch animals. We make curd,

butter and cheese from milk.

g Ducks, hens and geese give us
eggs. Eggs are very rich in proteins. Proteins help our body to

grow.

g Goats, sheep and chickens give us meat. Many people also eat

fish. Meat and fish are also rich in proteins.
Animals Give Us Useful Things

g We get wool from sheep. Wool is the
hair on the body of sheep. Woollen

clothes are made from wool.
Honey
g We get honey and wax from bees.
Honey is a healthy food. Wax is used

for making candles.
