Even and Odd Numbers

All those numbers that make a perfect pair are called even numbers . If a

number has 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 at the ones place, then it is an even number.

All those numbers that do not make perfect pair are called odd numbers . If

a number has 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 at ones place, then it is an odd number.

            Rounding Numbers

Rounding the number to the nearest 10

Let us write numbers 21 and 58 on number line.

                  21 58

                 20 30 40 50 60 70 80

We can see that 21 is between 20 and 30, but it closer to 20. So, 21 rounds

            down to 20.
Look at the ones digit when rounding a number
58 is between 50 and to the nearest ten.

60, but closer to 60. So, If the ones digit is less than 5, round the number

58 rounds up to 60. down to the nearest ten.

If the ones digit is 5 or more than 5, round the

                                                   number to nearest ten.
