11. come into bloom: to blossom, to start to produce flowers
Look at the roses are just coming into bloom.
12. come from behind: to win after being in a losing position in a game
The young boxer came from behind to beat the world champion.
13. every minute: describing the whole period that something lasted
I enjoyed every minute of the match. It was just fantastic.
14. for all I care: used to suggest that you don’t care
You can go to the party alone, for all I care.
15. eye candy: any object or sight with very good visual appeal
The computer graphics added lots of eye candy to that movie.
16. for a song: very cheaply
She bought the house for a song.
17. doormat: it describes a weak person who is abused by others
His friends treat him like a doormat.
18. every Tom, Dick and Harry: said about something that is common knowledge
to everybody
Every Tom, Dick and Harry knows what happened.
19. for love nor money: said when it is difficult to get something
You can’t get help for love nor money these days.
20. gum up the works: it means to prevent a process, a system or a machine from
working smoothly.
He is not careful enough and always gums up the works.
21. grouse about someone or something: to complain
He was grousing about his son’s laziness.
