·  To end a statement or a command.
                       Read the following examples:
                            1.  We gave our camera for repair. (statement)

                            2.  Look at the bird sitting on the tree. (command)

                      ·  After initials or abbreviations.
                       1.  She is an M.A.

                       2.  His father’s name is Dr A.K. Monga.

             G    Comma (,)
                  Comma is used for the following occasions:

                      ·  After introductory phrase and clause.

                       As early as possible, I will call you.
                  ·    To separate a clause in the series.

                       I cannot say what it is, who kept it here and why it is here.

                      ·  To set off a noun of address.
                       My Lord, will you help me to sort out this problem?

                      ·  To separate the parts of a date.
                       My sister’s marriage was on March 4, 2017.

                      ·  To separate word in the series.
                       I like apples, bananas, grapes and guavas.

                  ·    To separate a special expression like ‘yes’, ‘oh’, ‘no’, etc.

                       Yes, you can take leave now.
                      ·  To separate a statement from a question tag.

                       She is a competent candidate, isn’t she?

                      ·  Before and after a word of apposition.
                       Namit, the opening batsman of Indian team, is a reliable batsman.

                      ·  To separate a reported speech.
                       He said, “Hardly could I reach the station, the rain started.”


             G    Question Mark or Interrogation Mark (?)
                  Question mark is used instead of full stop after a direct question. Interrogation mark
                  is not used for indirect questions.

                  Read the following examples:
                       1.  Who is there?                        2.  Is anybody absent?
