Positive Negative Interrogative
I eat I do not eat do I eat?

G In simple present tense, the root form of the verb is generally used. But, with he, she, it
and other third person singular subjects, we add -s or -es to the root form of the
verb.
G The short forms used are –
do not – don’t does not – doesn’t
G Negative interrogative forms are –
Do you not eat? or Does he not eat?
Don’t you eat? Doesn’t he eat?
G Interrogative sentences beginning with a question word –
Question word + do/does + subject + root form of the verb + .........?
What do you drink ? What does he drink?
Simple Present Tense is used –
G to express actions / habits done regularly or repeatedly.

2. He catches the bus every evening.
G to express scientific facts and universal truths.

1. The sun rises in the east.
2. The Earth revolves around the Sun.
