             The  words  a,  an  and  the  are  called  articles.  Actually,  they  are

             demonstrative adjectives and are used to point out people or things.

             A and   An are called    Indefinite Articles because they do not specify any particular person
             or thing. The   is called Definite Article   because it specifies a particular person or thing.
             We will now study the use of the three articles.

             G  Article    is  used  before  a  singular  countable  noun  beginning  with  a  consonant a
                   sound.

                   Read the following examples:
                   1.  A   cow is a herbivorous animal.

                   2.  A   horse can run fast.
                    ·    It  is  also  used  with  some  words  beginning  with  vowels  because  they  have  a
                         consonant sound.
