G In this sentence, the subject is price and not shoes . So, the subject price agrees with
the verb ‘is’.
Rules of subject-verb agreement:
1. When two or more singular subjects are joined by
the conjunction ‘and’, it takes a plural verb.
Read the following examples:

2. Rekha and Madhu are sisters.
2. When a sentence has several, many, a few, both, etc, then we use a plural verb.

2. Both of the guests have arrived.

the verb agrees with the later subject.

4. We use a singular verb with each, either, neither, everyone, one of the, many a,
much, a little.
