Punctuation marks are really important aspect in writing. It helps you to make your
writing more understandable. The commonly used punctuation marks are as
follows:
G The full stop ( . ) is used at the end of assertive and imperative sentences.
Read the following examples:
1. I need a glass of water (assertive sentence)
2. Come here. (imperative sentence)
G The exclamation mark ( ! ) is used at the end
of an exclamatory sentence.
Read the following example: Sometimes, we put an exclamation
mark at the end of short
Hurrah! We have won the match.

G The comma ( , ) is also used to separate words or phrases in a series.

Read the following example:
It is a nice weather, isn’t it?
G The comma ( , ) is also used to separate a noun of address.
Read the following example:
Mom, please give my sports kit.
G The comma ( , ) is used to separate expressions like however, in fact, too etc.
Read the following example:
1. This dress is, in fact, bought by my father.
2. She was nervous during the exam. However, she passed in the exam.
