G     In negative sentences, we use do/does not             + root form of the verb.
                   Read the following examples:

                   1.  I do not     play hockey.

                   2.  She does not play        football.


             G     In interrogative sentences, we use do/does             before the subject and then use the
                   root form of the verb.

                   Read the following examples:

                   1.  Do     they live  near the school?
                   2.  Does     she play   football?


             Present Continuous Tense

             G     We use the present continuous tense to tell what is happening now.

                   Read the following examples:

                   1.  Harshit is sitting     in a spaceship.

                   2.  The stars are twinkling        in the sky.

             G     It is also used to describe an action that is going on during this present period of
                   time.

                   Read the following examples:

                   1.  He is living    in Delhi.

                   2.  More and more people are becoming                 vegetarian these days.


             G     It is also used to talk about a fixed plan in the near future.
                   Read the following examples:

                   1.  I am going      to visit my grandmother’s house tomorrow.

                   2.  They are participating        in the competition next week.

             The present continuous tense of any verb is made up of two parts – is / are / am +
             ing form of the verb.

             Read the following examples:

             is + writing = is writing

             are + walking = are walking
             am + listening = am listening
