A paragraph is a short composition. It consists of several sentences that are
grouped together. These group of sentences together discuss one main subject.

Read some specimens of paragraph given below:

1. Save Trees

The earth has given us many gifts that is why we
call it mother. One of them is trees. Trees

release oxygen which is very important for our
life. Forests bring clouds and cause rainfall.

They play a very important role in maintaining
the balance in the ecosystem. Trees prevent

soil erosion. Trees not only give us flowers,
fruits, timber, fuels and herbal medicines

but also provide us relief from hot weather
and give us fresh air. So, trees are useful and
beautiful gift of nature. We should not cut trees. We should save trees. We

should plant more and more trees.

2. Our National Flag

We are Indians and our National Flag is
very important for us. It is the symbol of
unity, honour and freedom. It is tricolour.

They are saffron, white and green. The

saffron at the top means sacrifice. The
white in the middle indicates truth and
purity. The green at the lower part stands

for prosperity. The blue wheel in the
middle means peace and progress. I

pledge to respect my National Flag all time.
