3                    Famous Emperors







            An emperor is the sovereign ruler of an empire. There have been many vast

            empires worldwide which consisted of several states and countries.

            Read  the  descriptions  about  some  famous  emperors  of  the  world  and
            write their names.


                                                She  ruled  over  the  United  Kingdom  for  almost  64
                                                years from 1837 to 1901. She was 18 years old when

                                                she  became  the  queen.  During  her  rule,  the  British
                                                ruled over India and many other countries.

            He  is  considered  as  one  of  the  greatest  military
            geniuses of all time. He was born in 356 BC in Pella,

            the ancient capital of Macedonia. He was the son of
            Philip II, King of Macedonia.

                                                He  was  a  great  Mauryan  emperor  who  ruled  over
                                                India about 2,200 years ago. He was the son of King
                                                Bindusara. Although he expanded his empire through

                                                many wars and conquests, he gave up fighting later
                                                in his life and spread Buddhism.

            He  served  as  the  King  of  United  Kingdom,  British
            Dominion  and  Emperor  of  India  from  1901  to  1910.

            He  was  the  longest  serving  heir  apparent  to  the
            British throne before his accession in 1901.
