g A Basket Pot : Clay is put into a basket. Each time, a basket clay pot
to be made, a new basket is prepared as the basket gets burned
during the firing of the pot.

Steps in making a pot on potter’s wheel.

Many people like using clay utensils. They use
cups, dishes, glasses and many pots made of

clay. Making clay toys is as exciting as making
clay utensils. You see children making clay lions,

tigers and houses and playing with them.

* Objects made out of wet clay are called po ery.
* A potter’s wheel is used to make pots.

* Steps involved in making pottery are— collecting clay, making a dough, shaping,
drying, baking and glazing it.
