Need of Pottery

Early man moved from place to place. When he practised agriculture, he
started producing more and more grains. He needed vessels to store
and cook food.

What is Pottery?

The art of making things out of clay is called

pottery.
How Pots are Made?

Water is added to clay to make it soft. The clay is

moulded into a long coil. Rings are made then pots are made by
putting rings one over another. The pots are dried in the sun and then
in fire.

When potter’s wheel was invented, vessels of many shapes and sizes

were made from clay.
