night after eating the berries of the
coffee plant.
Tea is often called the Queen of
Beverages. Do you know why? Share
your view in groups of three.
Now, read this conversation:
Misti : Mummy, I want a little
more sugar in this tea.
Mohit : Don’t give her any more
sugar, Mummy. I find this
tea sweet enough.
Mummy : And Misti doesn’t find it Do you know any legend
about the discovery of tea?

as much sugar as you want.
Daddy : People certainly have different tastes. I once attended a tea-party in Japan. I
didn’t like the tea at all. There was no milk and no sugar anywhere. And I had to
drink cup after cup filled with tea by my host . That is the etiquette . You can’t
refuse cups of tea given to you by your host in Japan.
Misti : Thank God, I’m not in Japan.
Mohit : I wish you were in Japan, just for a change. host : a person who invites
Misti : Don’t be naughty, Mohit. guests to a meal

Daddy : Englishmen are great tea drinkers. An refuse : deny, reject
Englishman drinks about ten kilos of tea mild: not severe
(leaves) in a year. But English tea is mild . squeeze : to press something firmly
And very little milk and sugar go with it.
An American drinks a little less than a kilo of tea (leaves) in a year. He enjoys his
tea in a glass. This tea has no milk and sugar in it. The American squeezes
lemon in it.
Misti : Ouch!
Daddy : A Tibetan drinks his tea from a bamboo tube and he puts rancid butter in it.
