Legend says that goatherds of

             Ethiopia discovered coffee when they
saw their goats staying awake all
night after eating the berries of the
             coffee plant.

Tea is often called the Queen of
Beverages. Do you know why? Share

             Now, read this conversation:

             Misti : Mummy, I want a little
                            more sugar in this tea.

Mohit : Don’t give her any more
                            sugar, Mummy. I find this

                            tea sweet enough.

Mummy : And Misti doesn’t find it Do you know any legend
                                                                                          about the discovery of tea?
                            sweet enough for her
taste. We have all different tastes. Here’s the sugar-pot, Misti, in this tray. Take
as much sugar as you want.

Daddy : People certainly have different tastes. I once attended a tea-party in Japan. I
didn’t like the tea at all. There was no milk and no sugar anywhere. And I had to

drink cup after cup filled with tea by my host . That is the etiquette . You can’t
refuse cups of tea given to you by your host in Japan.
Misti : Thank God, I’m not in Japan.

Mohit : I wish you were in Japan, just for a change. host : a person who invites

Misti : Don’t be naughty, Mohit. guests to a meal
                                                                                 etiquette : manner
Daddy : Englishmen are great tea drinkers. An refuse : deny, reject
Englishman drinks about ten kilos of tea mild: not severe
(leaves) in a year. But English tea is mild . squeeze : to press something firmly
And very little milk and sugar go with it.

An American drinks a little less than a kilo of tea (leaves) in a year. He enjoys his
tea in a glass. This tea has no milk and sugar in it. The American squeezes
                            lemon in it.

             Misti : Ouch!

Daddy : A Tibetan drinks his tea from a bamboo tube and he puts rancid butter in it.
