CHANGES IN PERFORMING DANCE

             Performing  arts  like  dance,  drama,  music  and
             theatre are so called because of being performed
             on  stage.  They  form  an  important  resource  for
             studying social history of any period. Performing
             arts  being  essentially  spiritual  form  the  basis  of
             civilisation.  The  colonial  rulers  tried  to  define
             India’s  past  in  a  manner  as  to  make  her  look
             weak  and  backward.  The  performing  arts  like
             classical dance forms became truly nationalist in
