            Look at the place value table.

            Place value is the value of a digit that is based on its place.


            There are 10 digits and these are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.

            We can write any numeral using these digits.


            Example  :            Find the place value of each digit in 248.

                                  2       4       8









                                                                8 ones                =            8



                                                                4 tens                =          40




                                                                2 hundreds            =        200
