             A Conjunction is a word which merely joins together sentences, phrases,

             clauses and sometimes even words too.




                                                                     He hurt
                    Where is        He was coming to                his hands
                                    school but  he met
                 Rahul today?                                       and  legs.
                                     with an accident.











                                                                        He got only some
                                                                          minor injuries
                                                                        because  the driver
                                                                           was careful.











             Conjunctions  are  necessary  to  create  compound  sentences  or  to  join  multiple  ideas
             together.
             Read the following examples:

                  1.  I saw a girl who     was wearing a green saree.

                  2.  Nalini told Raman that       he was a thief.

             Use of or  , but , and

             G    Or is used to express a choice between two alternatives.
                  Read the following examples:

                       1.  You can come by bus or        by taxi.
                       2.  You can eat it with a fork or      a spoon.

             G  But    is used to express opposition or contrast between two statements.
