G Forms of Past Perfect Continuous Tense.

G Uses of Past Perfect Continuous Tense.
· It is used to express an action that began before a definite moment in the past,
had continued up to that moment and was still in progress at that moment or
had recently finished.
Read the following examples:
1. He had been watching TV for four hours when I reached his house.
2. Naresh had been working on his biology project when I went to see him.
G Form of Used to .
Positive Statement : He used to sing.
Negative Statement : He never used to sing.
Interrogative Statement : Did he use to sing?
Moreover, this form is not preferred now. It is more common to make a statement
followed by a question tag.
Read the following example:
He used to dance, didn’t he ?
G Use of used to .
· It is used to suggest that something was true for some period of time in the past
but stopped being true later.
Read the following example:
Komal used to arrive late. (She doesn’t arrive late now.)
