A preposition is a word or group of words that tells us:
(i) where somebody or something is, (ii) where something happens or somebody
does something, (iii) the direction or place in which or where somebody or
something is going.
There are various kinds of prepositions.
G Some prepositions are used to show the place or where something happens.
Read the following examples:
1. The books are the bag. in
2. I found the keys under the chair.
G Some prepositions are used to show time or when something happens.
Read the following examples:
1. School ends at 2:00 p.m.
2. My birthday is on July 31.
3. I went to summer camp during my holidays.
G Some prepositions are used for special or other purposes.
