Adjectives are also used to compare persons or things. These are called degree of
comparison.
There are three degrees of comparisons.
Positive Degree Comparative Degree Superlative Degree
G Positive degree describes a singular noun in a simple statement.
Read the following examples:
big, tall, small, fair etc.
G Comparative degree describes two nouns so as to compare them. We add -er
to the adjective or add more to the adjective.
Read the following examples:
bigger, taller, smaller, fairer etc.
G Superlative degree describes three or more nouns. We add -est to the adjective
or add most to the adjective.
Read the following examples:
biggest, tallest, smallest, fairest etc.
Read some examples of adjectives and their comparative and superlative forms:
