We add -ied       to the verbs ending with y.

                   deny            denied                       carry          carried


             Read the following examples:

             1.  The student carried          the bag to his school.

             2.  The man buried          gold in his field.


             Some verbs have irregular past tense.


                   eat              ate                 catch             caught

                   run              ran                 sing              sang

                   break            broke               drink             drank


             Read the following examples:


             1.  The policeman caught             the criminal.

             2  Lalit slept      very soundly.


             3.  She went       to her uncle’s house.


             Past  Continuous  Tense  tells  us  about  the  work  which  was  happening  in  the
             past. We use first form of verb + ing             and was or were according to the subject.


             Read the following examples:


             1.  The children were flying           kites in the park.

             2.  I was eating       pizza when I had gone to the market.


             G     Simple Future Tense tells us about the action which will happen in the

                   future that is later. We use will + first form of verb in the sentence.

                   Read the following examples:


                   1.  The policeman will catch            the robber.

                   2.  My father will bring         toys for me.


                   3.  Your friend will play        a football match tomorrow.
