A singular noun names one person, place or thing.

A plural noun names more than one person, place or thing.

We generally make plurals from singulars by adding /-s -es .

Read the following singular and plural nouns:

                                  Singular Plural

                 bottle bottles

                 burger burgers

                 ball balls

                 boy boys

             Read the following nouns aloud:

                   fox glass watch box

When we change the above words to the plural form, we add -es .

                   fox + es = foxes

                   glass + es = glasses

                                                                   23
