15 Spiders - Fascinating Creatures

Spiders are arthropods that have eight legs. They have more legs and different body
parts than insects, and they also don’t move around in the same way insects do.

There are about 40,000 known species of spiders. Most spiders use a web to catch their
            prey, which is usually insects.

            Know about these amazing spiders.
            1. Orweb is the world’s smallest spider which is about 0.43 mm long.

            2. Huntsman Spiders live in tropical forests. They do not spin webs.
They are large and strong enough to catch their prey by force.
            3. Tunnel Web Spider is the world's most poisonous spider. Its venom Tarantula
can kill people in less than two hours. Its fangs are powerful and
big enough to bite through clothes. Its venom is ineffective against
the natural prey of the spider like flies and insects.
            4. The Red Back is Australia’s most famous spider and it gets its name
from the red stripe across its back. Its bite can be very painful and
                dangerous if not treated properly.
            5. Jumping Spiders jump upto 60 times their own body length. They Jumping Spider
extend their hind legs to pounce on their prey. They have the best
vision. They have eight eyes in three rows.

            6. Tarantulas are among the largest land-dwelling invertebrates. Their
legs and bodies are covered with thick, mouse-like fur which help
them to pick up the vibrations of their prey. Its hair can cause skin
                irritation.
                                                                                                Huntsman Spider
            7. The Goliath Bird-eating Spider is the largest spider in the world. It
is found in South America. It grows up to 12 inches long. This
spider does not build a web. It lives in the burrows.
            8. The Female Black Widow Spider is larger than the male. It gets its
name from the popular belief that the female eats the male after
mating. It is an extremely poisonous spider with fangs big enough
to penetrate the human skin. Water Spider
            9. Water Spider have fine hair that trap air. These spiders transfer air
bubbles into a dome-shaped under water web that holds sufficient
                air for them to breathe.

                This Corner

Majority of spiders do not bite humans and if they do, their venom is not
strong enough to inflict any damage. Black Widow Spider
