Sentences
On the basis of their meanings, sentences can be classified into five types.
Declarative sentence makes the statement that conveys information.
For example:
I’ve forgotten the password to my email account.
Interrogative sentence asks a question that seeks information or an answer.
For example:
How are we going to deal with the extra expenses this month?
Imperative sentence tells someone to do or not to do something.
For example:
Leave the door open.
Exclamatory sentence expresses the intensity of one’s feelings or thoughts.
For example:
How beautiful the sky looks this morning!
Optative sentence expresses a wish or a prayer.
For example:
May we return successfully from our mission.
