“Oh, you are laughing!” they said, “You think it’s all dragged : pulled

a big joke? Very well, we’ll show you.” And they

dragged him to the police sta on.

They said to the police, “Sir, this is

Kallu. He is a thief. He has stolen gold
from the rich man’s house. Please

punish him.”

The police officer caught the

man. He said, “Where is the gold,
Kallu? Tell me. If you don’t tell me, I

shall beat you like this.” And he

started to beat the man.

But, the more he beat him, the more

the man laughed. The police officer was red of
