A. Account for the following.
1. Ice floats on water, but iron nails sink in it.
2. Oil floats on water, but glycerine disappears in it.

B. Take a glass and fill it with water to the brim. Take a piece of thin cardboard and place it over
the mouth of the glass. Gently press the cardboard with your le hand and invert the glass.
Now, remove your le hand leaving the cardboard quite free. What happens and why? Explain
clearly. Write a note on it with the help of your teacher.
