Line and Line Segment

Take a sheet of paper and fold it from centre. When you open that folded

sheet, you will see a crease formed. This gives the idea of a straight line.

Part of a straight line is known as line segment . A line segment has two end

points. Thus, it can be drawn on a sheet of paper. The end points can be
named by letters A and B. The length of a line segment can be measured.

A line extends indefinitely in both directions and has no end points. It is
drawn on a paper with arrow heads on both directions. We cannot measure

the length of a line.
