Example : In a village, there are 5276 men, 2535 women and 2075
children. Find the total population of the village.
Solution : Men = 5 2 7 6
Women = + 2 5 3 5
Children = + 2 0 7 5
Total population = 9 8 8 6
Therefore, the total population is 9886.
Example : Rupam earned ` 3050 in February, ` 2659 in March and
` 3943 in April. Find the total amount he earned.
Solution : Rupam earned in February = ` 3 0 5 0
He earned in March = + ` 2 6 5 9
He earned in April = + ` 3 9 4 3
He earned in 3 months = ` 9 6 5 2
Therefore, Rupam earned ` 9652 in 3 months.

What is the total number of bags in the granary ?
