            Solid Shapes

Look at the following shapes carefully.

                                                                                       Cuboid
                                   Cube

                          Cone Sphere Cylinder

It is possible to show above shapes on a plane board. As, you can draw

them on a sheet of paper or a plane surface, they are called plane shapes or
            plane figures.

Can you do the same with a tennis ball, a match box, an ice cream, a dice, a

            drum, etc.

At the most you can represent a football by a circle. Such bodies are called
            solids.

            They occupy space.

They are 3-dimensional objects and not flat like plane figures.
