Writing Rupees and Paise

We can write ` 5.25 as five rupees and twenty five paise in words and

five rupees and fifty paise can be written as ` 5.50 in numbers. The

point (.) is used (or put) after two digits from the right.

These two digits to the right of the point stand for paise and digits left

to the point stands for rupees.

Write ` 15.25 in words.

Write fifty rupees and nine paise in
` 15.25
numerals or in short form.
Fifteen rupees

and twenty five paise. Fifty rupees and nine paise = ` 50.09

Write five paise in short form. Five paise = Re. 0.05
