             G     Past Continuous Tense is used –

                      ·  To express an action that was in progress sometime before the time of speaking.

                      ·  To express continuity of an action at the same time another action took place.

                              I was studying   when my friend came.

                      ·  To show the continuity of two actions taking place parallely.

                         Read the following example:
                               I was reading  while my mother was washing      clothes.
