15                     Precious Plants







            Plants are the very precious part of our earth. Earth is called a green planet because of
            the presence of plants. They are also most essential part of the life of all the organisms
            living on the earth.

            Read the given descriptions and name the following.

              1.   The branch of this tree is used as a symbol of peace.

              2.   This tree is sacred to both the Hindus and Buddhists.
              3.   This  is  the  oldest  tree  in  the  world.  It  is  in  California.  It

                   ranks among the world’s oldest and largest living things.
              4.   This plant grows faster than any other plant, nearly a metre
                   in a day. This plant is also the tallest among the plants of
                   grass family.

              5.   This  is  among  the  tallest  trees  in  the  world  found  in
                   Australia. It also has medicinal properties.
