53 Be Sporty!!

Sports are an important part of every society, country and individual. In one way or
the other everyone is involved in sports of some sort wheather one is playing or
watching.

Look at the pictures and read the descriptions of some sports. Then write their names.

It is a winter snow sport in which athletes on skill
perform various choreographed routines. The

sport was regarded as a freestyle skiing discipline
and was included in competitions under the
freestyle skiing category until 2000. The sport is
currently not a part of competitive freestyle
skiing.

It is a Southeast Asian sport that looks like a

combination of volleyball, soccer and gymnastics.
It is similar to volleyball but players kick the ball
instead of hitting it. The ball is made of woven
cane or plastic. The players of this sport are not
allowed to touch the ball with their hands.

It is a traditional Afghan sport. It is a dangerous,
free wheeling battle to keep control of a goat’s
carcass. It is played on horseback. A dead goat is

placed on the ground. The player who picks it
up, moves it around a post and place it in a circle
marked on the ground, is the winner. Other
players attack and try to stop him.
