Similarly, the smell of our favourite food
being cooked increases our appetite.
Our nose can detect all types of odours –
good or bad. We cannot see the smell, but
our nose can detect it.
Bad Smell of Garbage
A normal person can detect about 10,000 different odours.
Tiny odour particles enter our nose through our nostrils.
After entering our nostrils, the air moves up into a space at
the top of the nose. This space is covered with special
smelling cells. The odour sticks to these cells and the sensory
receptors that are actually part of the brain sends signals
directly to the brain. The brain identifies these odours and
Our Nose helps us to identify the thing.
